UEL Students

You must be fully enrolled and have your UEL ID card to access the libraries.

Your Library account will be created/updated within 24 hours of your enrolment/re-enrolment.

To use online resources you login with your UEL login and password.

To use the library spaces and borrow books you must have your UEL ID card.  You will not be permitted access to the libraries without this.

UEL Staff

Staff library accounts need to be created manually.  Please email library@uel.ac.uk from your UEL email address and we will set-up an account for you.

External Visitors

External visitors may be allowed reference access to our collections, or limited borrowing privileges, depending on their circumstances.

For security and copyright reasons, there is no access to electronic resources or the UEL network.

WiFi access is available via 'The Cloud', or via EduRoam if visiting from another academic institution.

At the moment, we are only able to offer access to UEL alumni and participants in the SCONUL access scheme.

SCONUL Access

The Sconul Access scheme is open for staff and students at participating institutions.  More information and the application form can be found on the SCONUL Access website: SCONUL Access | SCONUL

There is no fee to sign up to this scheme.  On their first visit to a UEL library, SCONUL Access visitors must bring their acceptance letter and ID issued by their home institution, and a passport photograph for the creation of a visitors ID card.

A £10 fee is payable for the replacement of a lost or damaged visitors card.

Alumni

The Alumni Passport benefit card can be purchased from the Alumni office for a one off fee of £15.  Benefits include reference access to the Docklands and Stratford campus libraries.

For an additional annual fee of £50, Alumni can borrow up to 5 items from the library service.
