If you need access to material that UEL does not have then you can request it as an inter-library loan (ILL) and we will try to supply it from another library.

*The service is only available to current University of East London students/staff, and it is not available to external users or alumni.

*You can place as many ILL requests as required in an academic year. However, we do have restrictions on how many requests can be fulfilled by certain partners dependant on the user type you fall under. If we are unable to fulfil your request due to reaching such limit, we will contact you via email.

Making a request:

1. Visit Track My Future > Study Dashboard > and use the Library Search bar to look for the material you need.

2.  When a new window opens up with your search results, sign in to your library a account.

3. Make sure UEL does not hold the material you need in print or electronic format, and that it is not available freely on the Internet.

4. Click ILL Request from the navigation bar and complete the form provided.

*Book chapters: Only a single chapter (or sections up to 5%) can be requested in digital format.

*Journal articles: You can only request one article from any single journal issue.

Next Steps:

1. You will receive a confirmation of your ILL request to your UEL email address.

2. Library staff will be in touch with you if there are any issues with your request. Completed requests will be sent to your university email account. Please use the download link in the email to access the material.
