What you can request:

1. You can place requests for items that are on loan to other users.

2. You cannot place requests on available items.
*If an item is available on the library shelves, then you will need to come to the library to get it off the shelf and borrow it.

3. You can request available items to be sent to the other library for collection.
*For example, you are normally based at Stratford Campus and need a book that is currently available at the Docklands Library.
This service can take up to three working days, so it is often quicker to make the trip to borrow it yourself.

How to make a request via Library Search

1. Visit Ex Libris Discovery and log into your library account on the top right hand corner using your UEL credentials.

2. Use the search bar to find your item record and click on its title from the results page.

3. Under 'Get It' click 'Request'.
*If all copies are on loan, you will be able to select the pickup location.
If there are copies available, you will be able to request that the book is sent to the other campus for collection.

4. Once you have finalised, click 'Send Request'.

5. You can monitor the status and manage your requests via account settings.

6. You will receive an email confirmation when your item is ready to collect.

7. You must pickup your item within 7 days. After this, your item will be returned to the shelves or moved to the next person in the queue.
